I have completed the registration form, how come I still cannot use the site?
We still have to confirm the validity of your email address. After registration, we will send you a confirmation email. Click on the link to activate your account.

I have waited a long time and still have not received the confirmation email, what should I do?
The confirmation email may have been filtered out as spam by your email provider. Please check your spam email folder (e.g. Bulk in Yahoo, Spam in Gmail). You can also try to log on with your username and password, and then request us to send you the confirmation email again.

When I invite my friends, do they have to go through the same registration process?
No. Since we have already validated their email address. Once they have submitted their registration form, their account would automatically be activated. No confirmation will be sent to them.

What is the difference between Public Material and My Material, Public Blog and My Blog?

How come sometimes the second menu bar is white and sometimes it is black?
The color of the second menu bar is a hint of where you are. If it is white, you are in your own “home turf”. See your name on the menu bar? From here, you can look at your own material, blog, send message, manage your profile, etc. If it is black, you are in another member's “home turf”. See that member's name on the menu bar? You can then look at his/her material, blog, profile, etc. In addition to the change in menu bar color, when you are in another member's “home turf”, you will always see his/her picture on the left.

What do these icons () stand for?

What kinds of media files can I upload to the site and what are the size limitations?
For graphics, the acceptable format is JPG and PNG. For voice, the acceptable format is MP3. And in both cases, the uploaded file cannot be bigger than 2MB.

What are learning materials?
There are currently 2 types of learning materials, wordlists and pictorial dictionaries, both designed to help you build up your vocabularies. In the wordlist module, you can maintain different lists of words and phrases. In the pictorial dictionary module, you can associate words with a picture, making it much easier to remember. All these can be shared with your friends or with everyone who uses the site (which we highly encourage). You can study the words using flashcard or see them in a slideshow.

Should I share my learning materials with everyone, my friends, or just keep them to myself?
By using the Viewable By option, you can decide who will have access to your wordlists and pictorial dictionaries. You can make them available to everyone (members and guests) who visits the site (which we highly encourage), to your friends, or keep them to yourself only.

Messages in the Trash folder will be cleaned up by the system periodically. So, don't count on them being there. For messages that you want to keep for a long time, put them in the Archive folder.

How can I stop someone from bothering me?
That is kind of unfortunate. We would expect all of our members to really respect each other. In case that really happens, you can go the Profile module and add that person to your Blacklist. That would block him/her to make any further contact with you.

Can I change my email address after registration?
Sorry, currently we do not allow our members to change their email address after registration.
